On Sunday, February 24th, 2008, the Avon Theatre hosted an inaugural gala with red carpet entry, celebrity entertainment and live Oscars telecast. Tom Bergeron, host of "Dancing With the Stars," served as the master of ceremonies. Guest artists included Randall Atcheson (pianist), Jane Condon (comedienne), and Quinn Lemley (actress/singer). The Avon Theatre was proud to present the Avon Award to Sandy Goldstein and Stamford Downtown Special Services District.
The Avon Theatre has produced a documentary about the gala fundraiser. The two part documentary can be viewed below:
